AP Spends Rs 33,000 Cr On Pension Each Year: Minister

Stating that the government has fulfilled all the ‘Super Six’ promises, the minister said 'Annadata Sukhibhav' would be given on August 3 and free bus travel for women from August 15.

Visakhapatnam: Minister for MSME and NRI affairs Kondapalli Srinivas said Andhra Pradesh pension disbursal system has became a role model for the country.

Participating in the NTR Bharosa pension distribution programme held in Patrunivalasa village of Srikakulam rural mandal on Friday, the minister said that the government's goal was to ensure that every family was comfortable. He said that the NDA government has been providing great service by giving monthly pensions to the elderly, disabled, widows, weavers and those suffering from illness. He explained that pensions are being distributed on the first of every month as promised in the elections, and the state was spending about Rs 33,000 crore per year.

He said that a pension of Rs 6,000 is being given to the disabled for their self-respect. He said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu suggested that ministers and MLAs should participate in the pension distribution programme on the first of every month to understand the suffering of the people. He said that public participation is necessary in the Swachh Andhra - Swarnandhra programme to keep the villages clean. He said that the Chief Minister also aims to set up an MSME park for every constituency and take the state to the forefront of industries.
