The Election Commission clarified that there is no truth in the rumours on social media that the local body elections in Andhra Pradesh are likely to be delayed by two months. The rumours are baseless and false, the EC said.

The election commission suggested that political parties, public and other stakeholders should not believe or spread unauthorized information.
The SEC also warned of strict action against those spreading fabricated and misleading information in the name of the election commission. The SEC would hold a press conference or issue a press release if there is any official information about the local body elections. Before believing in messages on WhatsApp, social media, and other social media platforms, it is suggested that the public check the official website of SEC.
