AP Records 7.45 Per Cent Net Growth In GST Collections For September

VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh has registered 7.45 per cent growth in net GST collectors for September this year, compared with the last year’s performance.

Chief commissioner of state tax, A Babu, said in a statement that AP recorded net GST collections worth ₹2,789 crore for September, 2025 -- the highest ever for September. In September last year, AP had net GST collections of ₹2,596 crores.

The authorities attribute the rise by 7.45 per cent of net GST collections in September, 2025 to ongoing improvements in compliance and tax administration.

As for gross GST collections, AP recorded a growth by 4.19 per cent last month, compared with the collections in the same month last year. The state collected ₹3,653 crore this September against ₹3,506 crore in the same month last year. The gross GST collections last month are also the second highest ever in the month of September, Babu said.

The State GST collections also registered an impressive increase of 8.28 per cent last month, compared with the collections in September last year – this September’s collections being at ₹1,185 crore.

The state received ₹1,605 crore through IGST settlement last month, recording a 6.84 per cent increase compared with September last year.

The authorities claim that the increase in net GST collections are due to ongoing improvements in tax compliance, streamlined IGST collections and a gradual expansion of the tax base. Moreover, the government’s consistent focus on enforcement, taxpayer services and the use of data analytics have resulted in higher voluntary compliance and strong revenue performance, they claimed.

Petroleum products: Meanwhile, the tax revenue from petroleum products last month was ₹1,380 crore, showing a 3.10 per cent increase compared to the same month’s revenue last year. The professional tax revenue also showed a remarkable growth, increasing by 43.75 per cent last month. Cumulatively, up to September, 2025, the collection of professional tax showed a strong 51.51 per cent rise compared to revenue the same period the previous year.

The authorities say that this performance showed AP’s strong economic recovery and effectiveness of the tax administration.

Notably, total collections in all sectors up to September, 2025 reached ₹26,686 crore compared to the ₹25,373 crore collected during the same period the previous year, indicating a growth of 5.18 per cent.
