AP Police Arrest YSRC Social Media Activist at Shamshabad Airport

 Anantapur: Kadapa police have arrested YSRC social media activist Bathala Srinivasulu Reddy, a native of Mamillapalli in C.K. Dinne mandal of Kadapa district, soon after he landed at the Shamshabad Airport in Hyderabad.

Srinivasulu Reddy fled to Kuwait soon after the NDA coalition government had been formed in AP. The YSRC activist is accused of posting abusive posts on TD and JS leaders, apart from morphing photos of women activists.

Kadapa police produced the YSRC activist before the Kadapa court on Tuesday. More than 40 cases have been registered against him.

Kadapa in-charge DSP P.G. Rajendra Prasad told media that Srinivasulu Reddy had posted abusive posts, including against Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy CM K. Pawan Kalyan. After the change in government, the YSRC activist fled to Kuwait but continued posting abusive comments on social media.

Bojja Tirumalesh of C.K. Dinne mandal lodged a complaint against Srinivasulu Reddy at the Chinna Chowk police station in Kadapa on November 3, 2024. Following this, Kadapa district police served a Look Out Circular for the YSRC leader, which led to information about his presence in Kuwait.

Sources said Srinivasulu Reddy came to India following the ill health of his daughter.

The Kadapa court has remanded the YSRC leader to judicial custody.

In the interim, Kadapa police have arrested 11 persons from different parts of Kadapa district over posting abusive posts on social media on Kadapa MLA R. Madhavi Reddy on Tuesday.

Those arrested include Nelavala Srinivasa Reddy of Kurnool, G. Sheik Noor Basha of Proddatur, P. Prathap Reddy of Galiveedu mandal, Sheik Nizamudin, Sheik Md. Riyaz, Sayyad Ismal Basha, Sheik Abdulla and Sheik Mudassar of Kadapa, Sayyad Imran Basha of Rayachoti and T. Potti Venkataramana of Ramapuram.
