Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh government has given permission to attach the properties of the multi-crore AP liquor scam case main accused Kasireddy Rajasekhar Reddy, totally worth Rs 13.30 crore.

Home principal secretary Kumar Vishwajeet issued GO MS 126 here on Thursday, authorising the additional SP, CID to move the ACB special court to seek attachment of the properties.

These properties include more than 30 acres of land located in Machanpalle village of Shabad Manda in Ranga Reddy district, a site of 326 square yards at Gachibowli village of Serilingampally mandal in Ranga Reddy district and the rest in Telangana state.

A case was booked at the CID police station at Mangalagiri with the Cr. No. 21/2024 under sections 409, 420, 120 (B), read with sections 34, 37 of the IPC, 1860 (Old Act) and now under sections 316 (5), 318 (4) and 61 (2) read with 3 (5) and 3 (8) of the Bharatiya Nayna Sanhita, 2023 and sections 7, 7A, 8, 13 (1)(b) and 13 (2) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 198 against several accused.

This was with regard to their participation in the illegalities committed by them in the implementation of excise policy in AP in 2019-24 as for adoption of manual issuance of order for supply of incenses to promote certain brands of liquor, abnormal increase of prices of certain brands, receipt of commissions/kickbacks from the distilleries and also involving in taking several decisions by the public officials to cause undue pecuniary advantage to several individuals and entities.

In due course of investigation, as per oral and documentary evidence, it was clearly established that the first accused, Kasireddy Rajasekhar Reddy, purchased properties in his name and also in the name of his mother, Subhashini, with money acquired from illegal liquor business.

Moreover, the co-accused in the case, Tukekula Eswar Kirankumar Reddy (A-9) and Paila Dileep (A-30) utilised the ill-got cash to purchase the properties, it was stated.
