AP: Man Gets Lifer for Sexually Assaulting Minor Daughter

Nellore: The Nellore POCSO Court on Tuesday sentenced a 46-year-old man to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹50,000 for sexually assaulting his minor daughter.
According to police, the incident took place in a village under Jaladanki mandal, and a case (Cr. No. 79/2019) was registered at the Jaladanki police station on June 24, 2019. The accused, identified as Karra Balaraju of Hanumakondapalem, was arrested after a detailed investigation led by then Kavali DSP D. Prasad. Following the completion of the probe, a charge sheet was filed, and the prosecution successfully established the offence in court.
Delivering the verdict, Judge Siripireddy Suma of the Nellore POCSO Court awarded life imprisonment to Balaraju.

Burglary Attempt at Bank in Nagalapuram, Two Suspects Identified
Tirupati: Unidentified persons attempted to break into a bank located on the Nagalapuram Road in Tirupati district late on Tuesday night.
According to police reports, the burglars entered the bank premises by breaking the locks of a shutter attached to a cement warehouse located behind the bank. They then drilled a hole through the wall to gain entry into the bank.
Once inside, the miscreants damaged the alarm switches in the manager’s room and made an unsuccessful attempt to break open the locker room. Failing to access the cash or valuables, they took away the bank’s CCTV DVR boxes and hard discs before fleeing the spot.
Police teams reached the scene after receiving information and conducted a detailed inspection. Officials said CCTV footage showed two suspects involved in the attempted burglary. A case has been registered, and efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the culprits.
Hostellers Attack Family Over Parking Row
Hyderabad: Tension gripped KPHB Colony, Road No. 5, on Tuesday night when hostel residents allegedly assaulted a local family, including a woman, following a dispute over parking.
KPHB sub-inspector Lingam said the quarrel had been brewing for days, as the family objected to hostel residents parking motorcycles in front of their house. Despite complaints, the hostel management reportedly took no action.
The situation escalated after a torn bike seat cover was found, leading around 30 hostel residents to attack the family. Locals alerted police, who reached the spot and restored order. KPHB police registered a case and launched an investigation.
Cop’s Act of Courage Saves Life
Hyderabad: A traffic constable’s quick response saved a biker from being run over by an RTC bus near the Suraram signal in Jeedimetla on Wednesday. The biker, travelling from Balanagar to Medak, lost control of his two-wheeler and fell dangerously close to the moving bus. Traffic constable Shivakumar, who was on duty at the junction, sprinted forward and pulled him to safety within seconds. The biker escaped unhurt, and CCTV footage of the dramatic rescue has gone viral.
“In the limits of Jeedimetla Traffic Police Station, Traffic Marshal Shiva Kumar displayed exemplary courage and presence of mind at Suraram Signal,” the Cyberabad traffic police said in a post on X. “He rushed forward and pulled the rider to safety within seconds, saving a precious life. Cyberabad Traffic Police salutes Marshal Shiva Kumar for his dedication, alertness, and commitment to public safety,” the post read.
