The AP JAC Amaravati has urged the 12th Pay Revision Commission (PRC) to submit its report to the state government within six months instead of the stipulated one year, citing financial difficulties faced by employees, teachers and pensioners.

A delegation led by chairman Bopparaju Venkateswarlu and secretary-general Palisetti Damodara Rao met PRC commissioner and retired IAS officer Dinesh Kumar at the Secretariat on Monday and submitted a representation.

The leaders said there had already been considerable delay in appointing the commission, affecting the financial interests of employees. They urged it to use modern technology, digital platforms and updated employee data to expedite the exercise.

Employee associations were ready to submit their proposals immediately, they said. Updated departmental data collected for implementing Presidential Orders-2025 could also help complete the exercise within six months.

The leaders said rising expenditure on essential commodities, education, healthcare and household needs had made it difficult for employees to manage their families. Low-paid pensioners and outsourcing employees drawing meagre salaries were particularly affected.

They expressed concern that the 11th PRC arrears remained unpaid in full, adding to employees’ financial difficulties. More than 10,000 employees retiring annually since 2022 could also lose retirement and pension benefits because of delays in implementing the 12th PRC, they said.

Stressing that pay revision was linked to employees’ financial security, family welfare and dignity, the delegation urged the commissioner to expedite consultations and submit the report ahead of schedule.
