AP HC Refuses PIL Seeking CBI Probe Into Mega DSC-2025 Recruitment

Andhra Pradesh High Court on Tuesday refused to hear the PIL filed by YSR Congress MLC P. Chandra Sekhar Reddy seeking a CBI probe into the Mega DSC-2025.

A two-judge bench comprising Chief Justice Lisa Gill and Justice Medamalli Balaji observed that PIL is a powerful tool and should not be misused to serve political purposes.

The court asked whether the petitioner has approached police with the information he has with regard to the alleged lapses in the recruitment. It ruled out the argument of the petitioner’s senior counsel that candidates are afraid of approaching the court, as the government has warned that civil and criminal cases will be booked against those who take up a misinformation campaign on the DSC recruitment process.

The High Court pointed out that so far, 335 writ petitions and three PILs have already been filed on the DSC recruitment. Of them, 69 are related to the sports quota issue. The court asked how the candidates could approach the court if they had feared trouble.

The court observed that the sports quota reservation is similar to the reservation facility being adopted by the central government. Further, the entire information on DSC notification, selection of candidates, and recruitment of teachers is in the public domain.

The High Court asked why those who got jobs by submitting fake certificates have not been mentioned as respondents. The court ruled out a hearing on the PIL when the alleged victims have not come forward for relief.
