Vijayawada: The historic 102nd Gunadala Lourdu Matha Mahotsavam will be held from February 9 to 11, with preparations in full swing to accommodate over 10 lakh devotees expected from across India.
Vijayawada Catholic Bishop Joseph Raja Rao Thelagathoti unveiled the Mahotsavam poster at a press conference here on Monday. He announced that devotees from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and other states are expected to participate in the three-day religious festival.
The Archbishop of Visakhapatnam, along with bishops from Nellore, Kadapa, Kurnool, Guntur, and other dioceses, will attend as chief guests. The religious troops will perform programs through song drama and dance depicting the history of Gunadala Lourdu Matha have been planned for this year's celebrations.
Monsignor Father Muvvala Prasad assured that comprehensive arrangements are being coordinated with government departments to ensure devotees face no inconvenience.
