Kurnool: Minister of social welfare Dr Dola Sree Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy said the employees would be rationalised to strengthen the sachivalayam system and improve public services.
On Wednesday, members of the Andhra Pradesh Village and Ward Secretariat Services Association met the minister at his camp office in Turpu Naidupalem and submitted a memorandum with their requests.
They urged the Veeranjaneya Swamy, who is also minister for village and ward secretariats and volunteers, to rationalise engineering assistants based on clusters rather than individual sachivalayam offices and to ensure promotions for eligible employees. They also requested promotions for digital assistants in panchayat secretary Grade-5 and equal status for them in the junior assistant and sub-registrar offices.
Additionally, they sought opportunities for welfare and education assistants to enroll in in-service B.Ed. programmes and for promotions in both the welfare and education departments to the senior assistant pay scale.
Responding to their concerns, the minister said the employee unions have already provided their views on the rationalisation process. He assured them that a committee of senior officials would be formed to discuss and implement a fair rationalisation plan that benefits all employees.
