AP Govt Approves Phase-II Land Acquisition of over 6,000 Acres for 3 Ports

Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh government on Thursday approved the Phase-II land acquisition of 6,248 acres at a cost of Rs 1,638 crore for the development of three ports in the state -- Mulapeta, Machilipatnam and Ramayapatnam.

MT Krishna Babu, special chief secretary, Infrastructure & Investment Department, said the expenditure towards the land acquisition shall be met from the internal resources of the Andhra Pradesh Maritime Board (APMB).

"The government hereby accord administrative sanction for Phase-II land acquisition for development of Mulapeta Port, Machilipatnam Port and Ramayapatnam Port," Babu said in a Government Order.
Under the Phase-II land acquisition, 1,903 acres will be acquired for Mulapeta Port at a cost of Rs 440 crore, which will also include the cost of Resettlement and Rehabilitation (R&R).
Likewise, 1,421 acres will be acquired for Machilipatnam Port at a cost of Rs 347 crore and 2,924 acres for Ramayapatnam Port at Rs 851 crore, the GO said.
