AP Govt Approves JSW Steel Plant in Kadapa; Phase 1 Production to Begin by Jan 2029

To facilitate the project, the state government has allotted 1,100 acres of land to JSW at a concessional rate of Rs. 5 lakh per acre.

Kadapa: The State government has taken significant steps toward setting up a steel plant in Sunnapurallapalle village of YSR Kadapa district. It has approved proposals from JSW Group for establishing the plant, which will be developed in two phases.

The first phase of the steel plant is set to begin with an investment of Rs. 4,500 crore, and the second phase will follow with an additional Rs. 11,850 crore, bringing the total investment to Rs. 16,350 crore and employment to 2500.
To facilitate the project, the state government has allotted 1,100 acres of land to JSW at a concessional rate of Rs. 5 lakh per acre. As per the government's directive, construction for the first phase must begin by January 2026 and be completed by April 2026. Production is expected to commence by April 2029.
The second phase of construction is scheduled to start in January 2031, with production operations to begin by April 2034.
