AP Government Hikes Fee of Courses Offered by Private Medical Colleges for 2026–27
The hike generally ranges from 10–15 per cent over the previous academic year.
Vijayawada:Andhra Pradesh government has notified fixation of an interim fee structure for the academic year 2026–27 for medical undergraduate, postgraduate, and super speciality courses offered by private un-aided professional medical and dental colleges. The fee has been hiked in the range of 10–15 per cent over the fee for the academic year 2025–26.
Health secretary G. Veerapandian issued GO 785 on Saturday fixing the interim fee structure for UG courses 10 per cent higher than the existing fee of the block period 2020–23. The final fee will be subject to the outcome of writ petition number 32975, 33162, and 35090 of 2022.
Accordingly, the fee for MBBS course under A-Category (Competent Authority Quota Seats) is ₹18,150; B-Category (Management Quota Seats) is ₹14,52,000, and C-Category (NRI Quota Seats) is ₹43,56,000. For BDS courses under A-Category, the fee is ₹15,730; B-Category is ₹4,84,000, and C-Category is ₹14,52,000. Health secretary further issued GO 786 fixing the interim fee for the academic year 2026–27 for PG courses 15 per cent higher than the existing fee of the previous academic year.
In the medical stream, fee for a Clinical Degree in Category-A is ₹5,71,320; Category-B is ₹11,42,640, and Category-C is ₹66,12,500.
Fee of para-Clinical Degree and Diploma Category-A is ₹1,78,538; Category-B is ₹3,57,075, and Category-C is ₹19,83,750. Fee for pre-Clinical Degree Category-A is ₹80,937; Category-B is ₹1,61,874, and Category-C is ₹10,58,000.
In dental stream, fee for Clinical Degree in Category-A is ₹3,92,783, Category-B is ₹7,85,565, and Category-C is ₹15,87,000. Fee for para-Clinical Degree Category-A is ₹3,53,504; Category-B is ₹5,74,759, and Category-C is ₹9,25,750.
In addition, the Health secretary issued GO 787 fixing an interim fee for the academic year 2026–27 for super speciality courses 15 per higher than the existing fee of the previous academic year.
Accordingly, common tuition fee is fixed at ₹19,83,750 for several colleges, including GSL Medical College, East Godavari; Katuri Medical College and Hospital, Guntur; Narayana Medical College, Nellore; NRI Medical College, Chinakakani, Guntur; and Dr. Pinnamaneni Siddartha Institute of Medical Sciences, Gannavaram, Krishna district.
The state government has stipulated certain conditions and guidelines for complying with the fee structure. Accordingly, no institution or college shall collect directly or indirectly under any head, description, or guise whatsoever any amount in excess of the interim fee notified. The interim fee proposed is effective for only the academic year 2026–27. It shall not extend to any subsequent academic year.
Once the Andhra Pradesh Higher Education Regulatory and Monitoring Commission notifies its final fee structure, the fee so determined shall automatically supersede this interim fee. On such suppression, the difference between the interim fee and the fee finally decided by the commission shall prevail. Where the fee finally determined is lower, the institution / college shall refund or adjust the excess fee collected in favour of the student concerned. In case the fee is higher, the differential shall be recoverable in accordance with the commission’s determination and the extant fee reimbursement arrangements.
