AP Eagle, BSMS To Collaborate for Free Burn Surgeries, Anti-Drug Drive
The IGP said the initiative would support economically weaker burn victims who are unable to afford reconstructive surgeries and urged eligible patients to make use of the opportunity.
Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Eagle chief and IGP Aake Ravikrishna on Wednesday appreciated the efforts of Burn Survivor Mission–Saviour Trust (BSMS) for organising free plastic surgeries for burn accident victims and announced plans for future collaboration in anti-drug initiatives.
At a programme held at the AP Eagle headquarters in Mangalagiri, Ravikrishna felicitated BSMS founder Nihari Mandali for conducting the “Burns to Shine 2026” free plastic surgery camp in Hyderabad.
The IGP said the initiative would support economically weaker burn victims who are unable to afford reconstructive surgeries and urged eligible patients to make use of the opportunity.
Nihari Mandali said registrations for the free surgeries will be conducted from May 28 to June 2 in Hyderabad. The camp will focus on treating burn scars, skin contractures, movement-restricting deformities and other post-accident disfigurements.
The AP Eagle chief also released brochures related to the camp during the event.
Officials said AP Eagle and BSMS will jointly launch awareness campaigns and counselling programmes against drug and ganja consumption among youth, aiming to promote a drug-free society.
