AP CM Pushes for Faster Conversion of MoUs Into Investments
AP targets faster project execution, a semiconductor ecosystem and a global horticulture hub in Rayalaseema.
Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to focus on converting investment agreements signed with Andhra Pradesh into actual investments and ensuring that projects move into production stage.
He also called for the development of an international-standard convention centre in Visakhapatnam to host investment summits.
Chairing the 22nd state investment promotion board meeting, Naidu reviewed various investment proposals in industries, energy, tourism, IT, electronics, food processing, and infrastructure development.
Officials informed the meeting that work had commenced on 519 projects out of the 714 investment agreements signed so far. Naidu stressed the need to accelerate the implementation of the remaining proposals and ensure that commitments translate into industrial activity and employment generation.
The CM emphasised the importance of developing Rayalaseema as a global horticulture hub, highlighting the key roles of the investment, infrastructure development and food processing departments in achieving the objective.
Naidu also called for an integrated logistics hub supported by ports, airports and improved east-west connectivity. Better connectivity, he said, should be a key focus in strengthening the state's logistics infrastructure and facilitating industrial growth.
The CM stressed the need to develop a comprehensive ecosystem for the semiconductor industry in Andhra Pradesh, including manufacturing units. The initiative is aimed at strengthening the state's position in the electronics and advanced manufacturing sectors.
Ministers Nara Lokesh, T.G. Bharath, Anagani Satya Prasad, Gottipati Ravi Kumar, Ponguru Narayana and Kandula Durgesh attended the SIPB meeting virtually.
