VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has expressed displeasure over the conduct of some MLAs in the state assembly and called for better discipline on their part.

Naidu asked in-charge ministers to watch the performance of the MLAs in their respective districts and take corrective steps. Speaking informally to ministers after the cabinet meeting on Friday, he also asked the in-charge ministers to do "political coordination" in their districts.

He stressed the significance of AP achieving a record 93 per cent filling of water reservoirs for the first time ever. This milestone, he said, aligned with the key principles of India’s Vision 2047.

Naidu highlighted the state's prospects under the Purnodaya scheme, which he hoped would bring investments worth `65,000 crore to the horticulture and aquaculture sectors.

Drawing his ministers’ attention to cultural celebrations, he suggested that events similar to the Vijayawada Utsav should be organised across all districts to promote local festivals.

As fir infrastructure, Naidu said he was firm that the Jindal steel plant in Kadapa must be completed before 2028. He said the upcoming visit by Prime Minister Modi to Kurnool on October 16 should be made a big success.

The CM commended officials of the water resources department for ensuring full water storage in all reservoirs in AP this season.

Ministers, he said, must oversee the performance of MLAs more closely to ensure they discharge their responsibilities in an admirable manner.

The cabinet meeting discussed various developmental initiatives, welfare schemes and strategic projects.
