Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet on Tuesday took a crucial decision to constitute a Commission of Inquiry to ascertain the real masterminds behind the Tirumala laddu adulteration controversy.

The decision was taken during a three-hour-long Cabinet meeting, in which the report submitted by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) was discussed in detail. The Cabinet observed that the SIT had recommended action only against certain individuals named in its report.
Ministers noted significant discrepancies between the SIT’s investigation findings, the charge sheet, and the details submitted to the government. In view of these inconsistencies, the Cabinet resolved to set up a Commission to study all three aspects and present a comprehensive account of the facts.
During the meeting, the Cabinet also deliberated on why certain facts that emerged during the investigation were not included in the charge sheet. The proposed Commission will specifically examine these omissions and fix responsibility accordingly.
