AP BRAOU Announces UG Admissions for 2026-27; Apply by September 15

Eluru: Andhra Pradesh Dr B.R. Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU) has released a notification for admissions to various undergraduate programmes for the 2026-27 academic year. The last date to apply is September 15, 2026 and for details, check the APBRAOU official website.

According to the notification, students must create an Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) ID and a Distance Education Bureau (DEB) ID to complete the registration process.

An Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) ID, also known as an APAAR ID, is a unique 12-digit digital identifier used to track and manage students' academic credits.

Students can create their ABC ID by following these steps:

Visit the DigiLocker website or app.

Sign up or log in using Aadhaar.

Search for Academic Bank of Credits.

Generate and save the 12-digit ABC ID.

How to Create DEB ID

The Distance Education Bureau (DEB) ID is required to verify a student's eligibility for Open and Distance Learning (ODL) or online programmes under UGC regulations.

Students can create their DEB ID by following these steps:

Visit the official UGC-DEB portal.

Enter the generated ABC ID.

Verify the details through OTP authentication.

Generate and download the DEB ID.

Eligibility for B.A. and B.Com. Programmes

The programmes are offered in Telugu and English medium. The courses and specialisations include:

B.A.: Political Science, Sociology and Public Administration

B.A.: History, Economics and Political Science

B.Com.: Computer Applications

B.Li.Sc.: Bachelor of Library and Information Science

B.Sc.: Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry (MPC)

B.Sc.: Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science (MPCs)

Candidates seeking admission to the B.A. and B.Com. programmes must have completed Intermediate or an equivalent qualification, or 10+2 from the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS).

Candidates who have completed a two-year ITI course, Andhra Pradesh Open School (APOS), Polytechnic Diploma, two-year vocational course, Veterinary or Agriculture Diploma, or any other equivalent qualification with 10+2 years of study are also eligible.

Eligibility for B.Sc. MPC/MPCs Programmes

Candidates must have studied science subjects at the 10+2 or Intermediate level and should have passed an equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry (MPC).

Polytechnic Diploma holders must submit their first-year marks memo as proof of having studied Mathematics, along with the Diploma Provisional Certificate.

Vocational course students must have completed the required Mathematics Bridge Course.

Eligibility for B.Li.Sc. Programme

Candidates who have completed graduation with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks are eligible for admission to the B.Li.Sc. programme. A 5% relaxation is applicable to SC, ST, BC and PH candidates.

Graduates working in a recognised library with at least one year of regular service in a substantial post of the rank of Record Assistant or above are also eligible. Such candidates must submit an experience certificate.

Graduates who have completed a Diploma or Certificate Course in Library and Information Science from a government-recognised institution can also apply.

Candidates seeking admission under the in-service category must submit a service certificate in the prescribed format.
