KURNOOL: R&B and investments minister B.C. Janardhan Reddy said that the ruling coalition government has fulfilled its promise of implementing the “Super Six” welfare schemes, which include free bus travel for women from August 15 and enhanced financial assistance.

Addressing a gathering of women at Kolimigundla on Saturday after participating in a rally, he emphasised the government’s commitment to women’s welfare, industrial growth, and overall development under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. He recalled that when the programme was first announced, opposition leaders dismissed it as unrealistic, but people believed in Naidu’s assurances and supported the TD-led coalition.

Janardhan Reddy stated that women had extended strong support in the recent elections because the previous government had failed to fulfil its promises. He said pensions were now increased to ₹3,000 – ₹4,000, while the earlier government had raised them only marginally over five years. He also highlighted the Deepam-2 scheme, which provides three free gas cylinders per year, and the Thalliki Vandanam scheme, which ensures every child in a household receives benefits.

He said welfare and development would go hand-in-hand and that the TDP has always prioritised women’s empowerment, beginning with self-help groups and DWCRA programmes. He added that Chief Minister Chandrababu has been a strong supporter of women and wants Telugu women to be recognised as leaders across the country.

On development, the minister stressed the importance of roads and infrastructure in attracting industries and creating employment. He cited the example of Ramco Cements, which had been allotted 500 acres during the earlier TD government, leading to local job creation. He said another unit was also being considered, while UltraTech Cement was being supported in its expansion.

The minister said that under Naidu, Andhra Pradesh had become an attractive destination for investors, as industries that once hesitated to enter the state are now eager to invest. Local leaders were also present.
