AP-Based NRI Family of Four From London Reportedly Goes Missing in Nepal
The family members have been identified as Santosh Kumar Sahu (42), his wife Surabhi Manmadha Sahu (35), son Spandan Kumar Sahu (18), and daughter Saina Kumari Sahu (13).
Visakhapatnam:An entire NRI family of four has gone missing post the devastating floods in Nepal. The family, hailing from Pandavari Veedhi in Parvathipuram of Manyam district, had settled in London in 2006. The family members arrived in India during June and booked a package for Mansarovar and surrounding tourist spots. However, they have not visited Parvathipuram, their relatives in the town said.
The family members have been identified as Santosh Kumar Sahu (42), his wife Surabhi Manmadha Sahu (35), son Spandan Kumar Sahu (18), and daughter Saina Kumari Sahu (13).
“During the last call I received from Santosh in June, he informed me that he is visiting Nepal, Mansarovar, and other places. I have not heard from him since then,” said Santosh Kumar’s maternal uncle Jagannadh Prasad Padhi, who lives in Parvathipuram.
He said Santosh, a brilliant student, graduated in computer science. After post-graduation, he moved to London in 2006. After finding a lucrative job, he married Surabhi from Mumbai and settled down.
Jagannadh Prasad disclosed that apart from his job, Santosh is also involved in the gold business which brought him to India frequently. Santosh’s son Spandan enrolled in Cambridge University recently. Daughter Saina is in a high school connected to Oxford University.
Santosh’s father Chandrasekhar Sahu has already moved to South Africa to live with his younger son.
Jagannadh Prasad said Santosh Kumar’s other brother living in Hyderabad has been in touch with the travel agency that booked Santosh Kumar’s family package to Nepal, Mansarovar, and other places.
Parvathipuram Manyam collector N. Prabhakar Reddy said he has no official information about the disappearance of the NRI family.
