AP Achieves 58% Coverage In SIR Exercise

Vijayawada: The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Andhra Pradesh has gathered momentum, with more than 58 per cent of elector-specific Enumeration Forms (EFs) distributed across the state within the first week of the exercise.
The enumeration phase of the SIR programme began on June 15 and will continue until July 14. The exercise aims to update and verify electoral rolls ahead of future elections.
According to election officials, all 4.16 crore Enumeration Forms required for the state's 4,16,27,694 electors have been printed, achieving 100 per cent coverage. Of these, 2,41,93,304 forms have been distributed, accounting for 58.12 per cent of the electorate.
The election commission has deployed 46,397 Booth Level Officers (BLOs) across the state to carry out the exercise. Digitisation of submitted forms is also progressing, with 8,45,108 forms uploaded so far, representing 2.03 per cent of the electorate.
Among the districts, Krishna recorded the highest distribution rate at 84.15 per cent, followed by Tirupati (81.30 per cent) and Chittoor (80.59 per cent). Vizianagaram (75.78 per cent), Anakapalli (74.73 per cent) and Guntur (72.27 per cent) also reported strong progress.
In digitisation, Srikakulam led with 1,11,443 forms uploaded, while Sri Sathya Sai district recorded one of the highest digitisation rates at 5.41 per cent. Bapatla (4.04 per cent), Eluru (3.86 per cent) and Palnadu (3.14 per cent) also showed notable progress.
However, some districts lagged behind in distribution. West Godavari reported 35.73 per cent coverage, while NTR district stood at 38.86 per cent and Nandyal at 39.23 per cent. Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore district recorded 42.68 per cent distribution.
Chief electoral officer Vivek Yadav said the revision exercise was progressing as scheduled and urged voters to cooperate with BLOs to ensure accurate and comprehensive electoral rolls.
