KAKINADA: BJP national council member K. Annamalai on Monday lauded AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for permitting the installation of a statue of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in the state and for initiating the unveiling of a massive statue at Amaravati on December 25.

Annamalai, along with Union minister of state for heavy industries and steel B. Srinivasa Varma, state housing minister K. Parthasaradhi, BJP state president P.V.N. Madhav and Eluru MLA Badeti Radhakrishna, unveiled a statue of Atal Bihari Vajpayee at Eluru on Monday evening.

He said Vajpayee served as Prime Minister when Chandrababu Naidu was the NDA convenor, and noted that Naidu has once again joined hands with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reflecting a return to good governance in the country. Annamalai recalled that Vajpayee entered politics inspired by the ideals of Syama Prasad Mukherjee.

Srinivasa Varma described Atal Bihari Vajpayee as an embodiment of moral values, stating that he even sacrificed the Prime Minister’s post for principles. Parthasaradhi said the initiative laid a strong foundation for good governance.

TD leader Ganni Veeranjaneyulu, BJP State vice-president Garapati Sitharamanjaneya Chowdary and others were present.
