TIRUPATI: Anna Lezhneva, wife of Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, offered prayers at the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirumala on Monday, days after their son was involved in a fire accident in Singapore.

The couple’s seven-year-old son, Mark Shankar Pawanovich, sustained minor injuries in a fire that broke out on April 8 during a summer camp at his school in Singapore. Following the incident, Pawan Kalyan and his family travelled to Singapore and returned to Hyderabad on April 12.

As part of a thanksgiving visit, Anna Lezhneva arrived in Tirumala on Saturday night. She first visited the Bhu Varaha Swamy temple and later fulfilled a vow by offering her hair at the Kalyanakatta, a customary devotional act observed by many pilgrims.

Before having darshan of Lord Venkateswara, Lezhneva, a Russian national, signed the mandatory faith declaration form at the Gayatri Sadan as per Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) protocol. On Monday morning, she participated in the Suprabhata Seva and had darshan at the temple.

The Deputy Chief Minister’s family donated `17 lakh to TTD’s Nitya Annadanam scheme, which provides free meals to pilgrims. Lezhneva also participated in the Anna Prasadam at the Tarigonda Vengamamba Annadanam Complex.
