Visakhapatnam: Home minister Vangalapudi Anitha on Sunday reviewed arrangements for the upcoming TD Mahanadu scheduled to be held on May 27 and 28 in a hybrid format across cluster-level venues.

During her tour of Payakaraopeta constituency, the minister inspected Kalyana Mandapams, venue grounds and logistical arrangements. She later held a review meeting with party leaders from Payakaraopeta, Nakkapalli, S. Rayavaram and Kotauratla mandals and urged cadre to work for the successful conduct of the event.

Anitha said Mahanadu would be organised in 1,840 clusters across the state, with 10 venues in Payakaraopeta constituency hosting six-hour sessions on both days.

At her residence in Nakkapalli, she unveiled the Mahanadu poster and described the event as “the grandest festival of the TD family”.

Referring to the hybrid format, the minister said the decision was taken in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for austerity. She noted that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Minister Nara Lokesh had reduced the number of vehicles in their convoys as part of cost-cutting measures.

On the same occasion, Anitha distributed Chief Minister’s Relief Fund cheques to beneficiaries in the constituency and visited families in Peda Gummuluru village to offer condolences and hand over financial assistance.

Expressing happiness over the establishment of a steel plant in the constituency, she said a resolution thanking the Chief Minister and Nara Lokesh would be passed during the Mahanadu.

The minister also highlighted ongoing development projects, including a new revenue division and court in the region.

Responding to recent controversies, Anitha alleged that YSRC leaders were attempting to malign her reputation.
