Anitha Launches Good Governance Drive in Ramayyapatnam
Anitha urges political neutrality in welfare delivery during visit to Ramayyapatnam
Visakhapatnam: Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha has stressed the importance of ensuring that welfare programmes reach all eligible individuals, irrespective of their political connections.
During her visit to Ramayyapatnam village in Y Rayavaram mandal, Anakapalli district, on Sunday, the minister launched the first step in the good governance programme there.
In her address to villagers, Anitha said political affiliations should matter only during the election season. “I am here to understand the welfare needs of the people," she stated.
The home minister announced several initiatives for the benefit of the local community. Beginning August 15, women would be able to travel for free on buses, she noted.
The government, she said, would soon introduce employment benefits for job seekers. There are plans to establish a toy industry in the Payakaraopeta constituency that could generate employment for 25,000 women. She noted that the Ramayyapatnam village has seen limited progress due to the “sarpanch's failure to take necessary actions.”
The minister inaugurated a Telugu Desam party office in Ramayyapatnam.
