Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh home minister Vangalapudi Anitha on Monday toured the Payakaraopeta Assembly constituency, distributing NTR Bharosa pensions and interacting with beneficiaries.
The minister began her visit at Satyavaram village, where she distributed pensions to beneficiaries and met residents. She also offered prayers at the Gouri Parameswara temple.
Later, Anitha visited Srirampuram and met the family of Boddapati Veeraswamy. In Aratlakota village, she conveyed condolences to the families of Yerakayya and Shankar, who reportedly died during recent unseasonal rains, and assured them of government support.
Addressing beneficiaries, the minister said the coalition government had accorded priority to social security pension distribution and was ensuring timely delivery of benefits. She stated that welfare and development programmes were being implemented across rural areas.
Referring to the operationalisation of the South Coast Railway Zone, headquartered in Visakhapatnam, Anitha said the project would benefit the North Andhra region. She credited the efforts of the NDA government for facilitating the establishment of the railway zone.
The minister said the state government was pursuing welfare and infrastructure development simultaneously as part of its long-term development agenda.
She added that the administration was working towards strengthening Andhra Pradesh's growth through a combination of welfare measures and infrastructure projects.
