Andhra Pradesh: Three Youths Drown In Krishna River At Vijayawada

VIJAYAWADA: Three youths drowned while taking a dip in the Krishna River near Vijayawada on Saturday, plunging Krishna Lanka into grief. The deceased were identified as Gaddam Joshua, 17, Vesam Gautham, 18, and Tigulla Teja, 18.
According to the police, six youths from Krishna Lanka had gone to Sitanagaram Pushkar Ghat, on the Guntur side of the river, for a swim. While bathing, some of them ventured into a deeper stretch and were swept away by the strong current.
On noticing the youths struggling in the water, local residents rushed to their rescue and attempted to save them. However, three of them drowned before they could be pulled out. Police and emergency personnel reached the spot after receiving information and launched a search operation.
After a strenuous search, the bodies of all three youths were recovered from the river. They were shifted to a hospital for necessary procedures and later handed over to their families.
The incident cast a pall of gloom over Krishna Lanka as three youths from the same locality lost their lives.
