NELLORE: Andhra Pradesh's investment outreach to South Korea, led by IT minister Nara Lokesh from July 5 to 11, has strengthened the state's global investment profile, with Sri City emerging as a key industrial destination showcased to South Korean investors.
During meetings in Seoul and Busan, Lokesh projected Sri City as a plug-and-play industrial hub for investments in electronics, semiconductors, electric vehicle (EV) components, advanced manufacturing, artificial intelligence (AI)-driven industries and maritime technologies. He also proposed Sri City as the base for a dedicated Korean SME township and a key node in Andhra Pradesh's coastal innovation corridor.
Sri City featured prominently in discussions with leading Korean companies, including LG Electronics, Samsung Electronics, Hyundai Mobis, Solum Group, Seoul Semiconductor, Sunic Systems, Motivelink and Hyosung Heavy Industries.
Sri City managing director Dr Ravindra Sannareddy, who was part of the business delegation, thanked Lokesh for effectively showcasing Sri City's strengths before Korean industry leaders. He also acknowledged the support of the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (EDB), KOTRA, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the Embassy of India in Seoul and other partner organisations in making the investment outreach a success.
The visit is expected to pave the way for fresh investments and stronger business partnerships, further reinforcing Sri City's position as a preferred destination for Korean companies looking to expand their presence in India.
