Andhra Pradesh Receives 18 Film Shooting Applications As Single-Window System Gains Momentum
Addressing concerns over law and order at shooting locations, Bharat Bhushan said the government has also taken steps to ensure smooth film production.
The Andhra Pradesh government's efforts to make the state a filmmaker-friendly destination are beginning to show results, with 18 film producers already applying for shooting permissions through the newly introduced single-window clearance system.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Andhra Pradesh State Film, Television and Theatre Development Corporation (APSFTVTDC) Chairman Bharat Bhushan said the response from the industry has been encouraging.
"More than 18 producers have already applied for shooting permissions. Our single-window system will enable filmmakers to obtain approvals without hassles and shoot anywhere in Andhra Pradesh," Bharat Bhushan said.
He explained that the new mechanism allows producers to make all location-related payments through a single platform instead of dealing separately with different government departments for parks, roads, government buildings and other public locations.
"Earlier, producers had to make payments at multiple locations and approach different departments individually. Now everything can be processed through a single window, making the entire process much easier for producers and directors," he added.
Addressing concerns over law and order at shooting locations, Bharat Bhushan said the government has also taken steps to ensure smooth film production.
"Such issues will not arise now. Chief Secretary K. Sai Prasad Garu is determined to make film shootings in Andhra Pradesh completely hassle-free, and we are grateful for his wholehearted support," he said.
The chairman's remarks came after a high-level meeting held with Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary K. Sai Prasad, APFDC Managing Director Viswanathan and senior officials from various government departments to discuss measures to strengthen the state's film industry.
The meeting focused on creating a filmmaker-friendly ecosystem by simplifying and expediting the process of granting shooting permissions across Andhra Pradesh. Officials discussed implementing a fast-track approval process and strengthening the single-window clearance system to ensure seamless coordination among departments.
Following the meeting, Bharat Bhushan reiterated that the Andhra Pradesh Government is committed to positioning the state as a preferred destination for film production by providing faster approvals, better coordination and a hassle-free shooting environment.
