Andhra Pradesh: Police Tracker Dog ‘Rakhi’ Dies After Years Of Service

KURNOOL: a Labrador tracker dog that served the Kurnool district police for nearly nine years, died on Monday due to old age and illness.
Rakhi was part of the police dog squad from 2017 to 2026 and played a key role in several crime investigations across Kurnool and Nandyal districts. Police said the tracker dog died at the Dog Squad office near the Special Branch office in Kurnool after battling age-related health issues.
Police personnel paid tributes to the canine at the District Police Training Centre near Dinnedevarapadu. Additional SP (AR) S. Krishnamohan, along with other police officials and dog squad staff, offered floral tributes to the mortal remains.
