Andhra Pradesh HC Orders Re-Evaluation of APP Exam Scripts
A single-judge Bench headed by Justice Nyapathi Vijay heard the petitions on Tuesday, in which candidates sought re-evaluation of their answer scripts.
Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh High Court has directed the state government to re-evaluate the answer scripts of 10 candidates, to be randomly selected from among 18 petitioners, for the Assistant Public Prosecutors (APP) examination, with the exercise to be conducted under the supervision of a renowned academician. The court asked the government to submit a report within six weeks.
A single-judge Bench headed by Justice Nyapathi Vijay heard the petitions on Tuesday, in which candidates sought re-evaluation of their answer scripts.
Appearing for the petitioners, counsel Y. Tagore Yadav submitted that out of more than 1,500 candidates who appeared for the APP examination, only 10 were declared qualified, raising concerns over the evaluation process. He urged the court to order re-evaluation to ensure fairness and transparency.
It may be recalled that following a public interest litigation alleging delay in APP recruitment since 2019, the High Court had earlier directed Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand on March 19, 2025, to initiate the recruitment process. Pursuant to the direction, the state government issued a notification in August and conducted the examination, which resulted in only 10 candidates qualifying.
