Andhra Pradesh: FTPCCI, EAGLE To Launch Drug-Free India Short Film Contest

VIJAYAWADA: The Film and Television Promotion Council of India (FTPCCI) and the Elite Anti-Narcotics Group for Law Enforcement (EAGLE), Andhra Pradesh, would jointly organise a ‘Drug-Free India’ short film contest to create awareness among the public, particularly youngsters, about the dangers of drug abuse.

Ravikrishna appreciated the FTPCCI initiative to join hands with the state government and EAGLE to promote social responsibility through the film, television and digital entertainment sectors. He also praised FTPCCI national president Chaitanya Janga and general secretary PVS Varma for their proposal.
Janga and Varma said the contest would highlight the adverse impact of drug abuse on youngsters, families and society. The initiative would focus on creating awareness among youth and encouraging them to stay away from drugs.
Participants would be encouraged to produce short films on themes including anti-drug awareness, the future of youth, family values, social responsibility, the harmful consequences of drug abuse and the creation of a drug-free society.
The organisers said the collaboration with EAGLE would help take the anti-drug awareness campaign to a wider section of society through films and digital entertainment.
