Andhra Pradesh: 51 Convicted in 41 Cases in Three Years

Kakinada:Following utilization of the Dharma App by the Court Monitoring Cell, 51 accused in different cases in the district were punished in 41 cases during 2023-2025.

This was stated on Friday by Eluru SP, Pratap Shiva Kishore. He said there has been a 156 per cent increase in the conviction rate.

The SP said the Dharma App and the Nyaya Sahayak system to ensure that the witnesses are well-prepared for defense cross examination, and the meticulous preparation, led to strong testimonies and the subsequent convictions.

In 19 cases, the court imposed life imprisonment, out of which there were double life sentence in three cases. Three accused got 20 years’ imprisonment in three cases and 11 accused got 10 years’ imprisonment in 9 cases while there were 7 years’ imprisonment to 3 accused in 3 cases, 5 years’ imprisonment to four accused in 4 cases, and four years’ imprisonment to one accused in one case.

He praised the investigation officers and court monitoring cell officials for their success in proving the cases and in taking steps for awarding punishment to the criminals.
