Andhra CRDA Approves HC Infrastructure Works, Amaravati Economic Region Plan

Amaravati: The APCRDA on Saturday approved infrastructure works worth Rs 547.07 crore near the High Court buildings and gave its nod for preparation of a development plan for the proposed Amaravati Economic Region spanning nine districts.The decisions were taken at the 61st Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) meeting chaired by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, which discussed and approved 18 agenda items related to the development of the capital region.
"The APCRDA has given its approval for key infrastructure works around the High Court and for preparation of a roadmap for the Amaravati Economic Region extending from Eluru to Prakasam districts," Naidu said in an official release.
He directed officials to undertake urban mobility planning in Amaravati in line with the requirements of a future-ready capital city.
The Authority approved infrastructure works related to the High Court complex at an estimated cost of Rs 547.07 crore and also cleared a proposal to establish a Giant Observation Wheel under the Design-Build-Operate-Transfer (DBOT) model on a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) basis to promote tourism.
It also approved preparation of a Request for Proposal (RFP) for formulating a development plan for the Amaravati Economic Region, which will cover nine districts from Eluru to Prakasam.

Further, it approved creation of an independent fire regulation system, enabling CRDA to establish its own Fire Wing and issue No Objection Certificates (NOCs).
The Authority also approved establishment of ATMs and kiosks on road setback-affected plots in Land Pooling Scheme (LPS) layouts and development of a City Gas Distribution Network through either PPP or joint venture mode.
It agreed to allot up to five cents of land within village habitation areas to beneficiaries holding non-viable plots under the Negotiable Settlement Policy.
The chief minister directed officials to develop housing complexes for lower and middle-income groups in accordance with World Bank and Asian Development Bank guidelines.
The Authority also approved cancellation of the existing Tabreed agreement relating to the District Cooling System and permitted fresh tenders.
Further, it exempted registration fees for 495 farmers in LPS layouts whose allotment codes changed following fresh allocations.
Naidu also instructed officials to establish a central cooling system for buildings and offices in Amaravati and promote public awareness on new technologies being adopted in the Blue-Green City project.
He suggested that every township in the capital region should evolve into a hub for work-from-home facilities, liveable communities and commercial activity.
The CM also directed officials to expedite development of hotels and convention centres and ensure hospitals coming up in Amaravati provide accommodation facilities for attendants accompanying patients.
