The private helicopter, carrying seven passengers, was en route to Gangotri when it crashed in the morning in Uttarkashi.

Kurnool: Anantapur MP Ambika Lakshminarayana's sister Vedavati and another woman, Vijaya Reddy, have been confirmed dead in a helicopter crash in Uttarakhand on Thursday, officials said.

With this, the death toll has risen to six, including two residents of Andhra Pradesh. Vedavati’s husband, Bhaskar, survived with injuries and was rushed to AIIMS in Rishikesh for treatment.

The private helicopter, carrying seven passengers, was en route to Gangotri when it crashed in the morning in Uttarkashi. The cause of the crash is yet to be determined. Locals and police personnel reached the site immediately to begin rescue operations.
