Anakapalli Police Seize 130 Kg Ganja, One Arrested
"The accused attempted to exploit the weather conditions to evade detection, but our team remained alert and successfully intercepted the vehicle," said circle inspector P. Paidapu Naidu.
Visakhapatnam: Anakapalli police seized 130 kg of ganja from a car and arrested one person during a vehicle check on the outskirts of Khandivaram village. The seized contraband, valued at `6.5 lakh, was found concealed in the vehicle which was also confiscated.
The arrested person was identified as 26-year-old Kashi Teja, a resident of Bayalupudi village.
According to police, Teja had planned to smuggle the ganja during rainy weather, to avoid detection by the police.
"The accused attempted to exploit the weather conditions to evade detection, but our team remained alert and successfully intercepted the vehicle," said circle inspector P. Paidapu Naidu.
A hunt was underway to nab the three of his accomplices who were reportedly acting as pilots in separate vehicles.
