Ambulance Driver Dies In Road Mishap

Kurnool: A 30-year-old man was killed in a road accident early on Tuesday morning when a lorry rammed into an ambulance on the Yemmiganur–Kurnool main road near the Bharat Gas warehouse on the outskirts of Gonegandla village.

The deceased, Kattala Hussain of Yemmiganur, worked as an ambulance driver and was the sole breadwinner of his family.

On Monday midnight, he had transported a patient from a private hospital in Yemmiganur to the Kurnool Government Hospital.

While returning to Yemmiganur, the ambulance was hit by a truck near Gonegandla. Hussain sustained severe head injuries and died on the spot.

Police reached the scene and shifted the body to the Yemmiganur Government General Hospital for post-mortem. The Gonegandla police said a case has been registered based on a complaint filed by Hussain’s mother and wife.
