Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday said Amaravati must develop into a global hub for research and innovation in quantum science, biomedicine and advanced computation.

He met a delegation of leading academicians, researchers and technology firms working in quantum computation, wet-lab sciences and wearable quantum technologies, who presented a strategic roadmap for establishing India’s first integrated quantum–bio–medical research ecosystem, the Amaravati Quantum BioFoundry.

Appreciating their work, the Chief Minister said Andhra Pradesh is positioning itself as a promoter of frontier technologies and is committed to creating a policy environment that attracts world-class investment and innovation. He stressed that the future lies in applications, knowledge and closing “missing links,” noting that only a few countries are leveraging quantum science in biomedicine. “We have to build the ecosystem and achieve breakthroughs. As a policymaker, I can give the framework that empowers technology,” he said.

The delegation outlined a vision anchored by a Quantum Simulation Centre, a National Quantum BioFoundry, an Innovation Hub, and a nationwide spoke network. Focus areas include quantum medicine, quantum biology and integrated life-sciences research driven by computation and data.

The plan proposes Centres of Excellence, clinical partnerships, industry collaborations, high-performance computing, research infrastructure and start-up support systems. Delegates highlighted emerging global use cases where quantum technologies are reshaping healthcare, and noted that AP’s strategic location, research momentum and policy agility make Amaravati an ideal leader in this space.

Welcoming the proposal, the Chief Minister emphasised the need for short-, medium- and long-term applications that can deliver transformational impact. He called for a strong hub-and-spoke model, deep national and global networks, and an open-minded approach as Amaravati prepares to shape the future of quantum biomedicine.

Experts from computation, wet-lab research and next-generation wearables participated. Secretary to CM Pradyumna and ITE&C Secretary Bhaskar Katamneni were also present.
