Amalapuram: A youth died after suffering an electric shock while putting up a flexi to mark the birthday celebrations of Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan in Amalapuram on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Rolla Prem Kumar. According to reports, he suffered the electric shock while attempting to put up a flexi near a college in Amalapuram.

According to the reports, Prem Kumar was working in Hyderabad and had travelled to his hometown in Andhra Pradesh along with his friends to participate in Pawan Kalyan’s birthday celebrations.

Despite repeated warnings from authorities to exercise caution while putting up banners and flexis, some youngsters reportedly continue to take risks during such celebrations.

The incident cast a pall of gloom over Prem Kumar’s village, with his family, friends and local residents mourning his sudden death.
