KURNOOL: Alur MLA Busine Virupakshi was released from Kurnool Central Prison on Saturday after spending 69 days in jail in connection with a clash between Telugu Desam and YSRC activists at Chippagiri.

The Andhra Pradesh High Court granted bail to Virupakshi, his younger brother B. Sriramulu, his son B. Chandrasekhar and 25 others in the case. They were released following the court’s order.

Supporters gathered near the Kurnool court on Saturday after the release of the MLA and the other accused.

After his release, Virupakshi alleged that false cases had been filed against him and that he had been sent to prison unjustly.
