Alluri Sitarama Raju’s 129th Birth Anniversary Celebrated at Birthplace

Traditional folk performances and cultural programmes depicting the life, ideals and sacrifices of Alluri Sitarama Raju were organised as part of the celebrations.

Visakhapatnam:The 129th birth anniversary of freedom fighter Alluri Sitarama Raju was celebrated at his birthplace, Pandrangi village in Padmanabham mandal of Visakhapatnam district, on Friday.

The celebrations began at Veerula Udyanavanam, where BJP Andhra Pradesh president P.V.N. Madhav, MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao, NTR Vaidya Seva Trust Corporation chairman Seethamraju Sudhakar and other public representatives paid floral tributes to the freedom fighter’s statue.

A patriotic rally carrying the National Flag was taken out from Alluri Sitarama Raju’s ancestral house to the main venue. The procession, led by Madhav, Srinivasa Rao and BJP district president Parashuram Raju, witnessed the participation of party workers, students and local residents.
