Alliance government working full throttle to boost AP's growth, says governor Nazeer
Vijayawada: Governor Justice S Abdul Nazeer has noted the aspiration of the state’s people for speedy development and said the Alliance Government is working hard to achieve such goals.
The governor was speaking at an event held at the IGMC stadium here to mark Republic Day at the state’s nerve-centre. The day was celebrated with enthusiasm across the state. Governor Nazeer unfurled the National Flag and received a guard of honour from the police.
Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu, deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan, minister Nara Lokesh and others attended the ceremony.
The Governor said, “The NDA government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended its complete support and cooperation in overcoming the financial hurdles and taking the state back on the development path. It helped bring back Polavaram on track and is also reviving the Visakha Steel Plant.”
He said, “The Swarnandhra Vision 2047 aligns seamlessly with the PM’s national aspiration of 'Viksit Bharat'. At the heart of our vision lies a powerful promise captured in three words: "Arogya, Aishwarya, Ananda" (Healthy, Wealthy, Happy). As we set our sights on transforming Andhra Pradesh to a developed state, the economy is projected to grow at 15 per cent from the present `16 lakh crore asset base to `305 lakh crore by 2047. This implies an increase in per capita income from `2.68 lakh to `53.34 lakh, an increase of nearly 20 times in a span of 24 years.”
Justice Nazeer said that AP was marred by a severe financial and administrative disarray due to the “previous regime's mismanagement of state finances and diversion of resources.” The “misgovernance” has left a lasting scar on the state’s economy and infrastructure.
He said the present government won an unprecedented and historical mandate. “It is now our solemn responsibility to fulfill this trust, rebuild the state, and transform every challenge into an opportunity.”
“Product Perfection ensures that ‘Made in Andhra Pradesh’ becomes a hallmark brand worldwide. The Godavari-Penna link will boost irrigation by June 2026, while the Global Best Logistics endeavour transforms Andhra Pradesh into a world-class logistics hub, leveraging our strategic coastline and cost optimization-energy.”
Nazeer said the Industrial Development Policy for 2024-29, coupled with specialized policies for MSMEs, electronics manufacturing etc would create a comprehensive framework for employment generation. “The prestigious Skill Census undertaken by the government intended to cover residents between the age group 15 to 59 years. This will all mean that a population of 3.54 crore is progressing rapidly.”
