All Bus Passengers Have Miraculous Escape in Collision
Timely presence of mind shown by the bus cleaner and assistance provided by a passing medium vehicle owner.
Except for the bus driver who died, all passengers of the vehicle had a miraculous escape, except for some minor injuries.
The bus cleaner acted swiftly and started breaking the windows of the bus. A DCM owner, who stopped his vehicle, immediately got down and helped the bus cleaner in breaking the windows and ensuring evacuation of all the passengers travelling in the bus.
Police said had the windows not been broken in time, the accident could have turned as tragic as the recent incident in Kurnool district.
The accident occurred when the air-conditioned bus had been travelling from Nellore to Hyderabad and nearing Sirivellametta. Its front tyre burst causing the bus to lose balance. The driver failed to regain control of the bus.
Though the mishap occurred in the early hours, around 10 local residents rushed to the spot and also played a crucial role in saving the passengers. Meanwhile, a passer-by alerted the police by dialling 100, following which police teams reached the scene.
The deceased bus driver has been identified as Bhaskar, a native of Kadapa district. The bodies of the lorry driver and cleaner have been charred beyond recognition, making their identification difficult, police said.
