AISGEF Urges Support for National Conference at Shirdi
Vidyasagar said the federation, with a proud history of over 60 years, represents nearly 80 lakh state government employees across the country
VIJAYAWADA: National vice-president of the All India State Government Employees Federation (AISGEF) and Andhra Pradesh NGGO Association state president A. Vidyasagar has called upon government employees to ensure the grand success of the federation’s 18th national conference, scheduled to be held at Shirdi in Maharashtra from January 23 to 26.
Unveiling the conference poster at the NGO Home in Vijayawada on Friday, Vidyasagar said the federation, with a proud history of over 60 years, represents nearly 80 lakh state government employees across the country. He said about 1,200 delegates from all states would attend the national council meetings, along with fraternal delegates from various federations abroad as special invitees. From Andhra Pradesh, 55 delegates will participate, for whom the state government has sanctioned three days of special casual leave.
The conference, organised under the aegis of the Maharashtra State Government Employees’ Association, will deliberate on key issues such as the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS), regularisation of contract employees, pending pay revision issues in several states, labour codes introduced by the Centre, and international developments affecting employees. Several resolutions are expected to be adopted.
Vidyasagar said the conference is being held under the leadership of AISGEF president Subhash Lamba and general secretary Srikumar. Special sessions for women delegates will be conducted, with a full day devoted to issues faced by women employees nationwide. Elections to the AISGEF national executive committee will be held on January 26, and Vidyasagar announced that he is re-contesting for the post of national vice-president.
