BHUBANESWAR: Odisha has witnessed another resignation from the Indian Police Service (IPS)      within days of Bhubaneswar Deputy Commissioner of Police Jagmohan Meena stepping down, with probationary Odisha-cadre officer C.A Ramdas tendering his resignation.

According to official sources, Ramdas, a 2025-batch IPS officer allotted to the Odisha cadre, submitted his resignation while undergoing foundational training at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) in Hyderabad.

Since he was still under training, Ramdas had not yet assumed his first field posting in Odisha.

Officials at the Odisha Police Headquarters confirmed receipt of his resignation letter. The officer is understood to have cited personal reasons for his decision. The resignation is subject to acceptance by the competent authority.

Ramdas, 33, is reportedly a native of the Baramati region of Maharashtra.

His resignation comes just days after senior IPS officer Jagmohan Meena resigned as Bhubaneswar Deputy Commissioner of Police, drawing attention to two high-profile exits from the Odisha cadre in quick succession.

While the two resignations are unrelated, their proximity has sparked discussion within administrative and police circles. No official statement has suggested any connection between the two cases.

Ramdas belonged to the 2025 batch of the IPS and was among the officers allotted to the Odisha cadre by the Centre following the civil services examination. As he had not completed his mandatory training, he had not yet been assigned any operational responsibilities in the state.
