A4 Liquor Shop Renewals Pick Up, Rs 754 Crore Collected

Vijayawada: The A4 liquor shop renewal process for the 2026-27 excise year has gathered pace in Andhra Pradesh, with 2,931 of the 3,650 shops opting to renew their licences ahead of the September 21 deadline.

The Prohibition and Excise Department has so far collected Rs 754.1 crore from 2,113 shops, with another Rs 747.9 crore due.

Of the shops opting for renewal, 1,458 have completed their payments, while 655 have made partial payments and are yet to clear the balance. Another 382 shops have made full payment but are yet to submit their renewal applications.

As many as 798 applications have been submitted and are awaiting approval from District Prohibition and Excise Officers (DPEOs), while 278 have already been approved.

With these approvals, 1,076 shops, or 29.5 per cent of the total, have completed the entire renewal process.

Officials have stepped up efforts to ensure that shops complete payments, submit applications and secure approvals before the September 21 deadline. They said the response from existing A4 shop operators had been encouraging and expressed confidence that the renewal target would be achieved within the deadline.
