98% Of Endowments Promises Fulfilled: Anam
The minister said temple festivals and rituals are being conducted strictly as per Vedic traditions and added that the department is working to protect ancient temple structures: Reports
KURNOOL: Endowments minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy said that nearly 98 per cent of the promises made by the coalition government during the elections in the endowments department have been fulfilled. He was speaking after inaugurating the Kurnool zone administrative office complex, built at a cost of ₹4.25 crore, in Kurnool city on Saturday.
The minister said temple festivals and rituals are being conducted strictly as per Vedic traditions and added that the department is working to protect ancient temple structures. He said special committees have been formed at the district and state levels to safeguard temple properties.
He stated that the government is giving a minimum monthly wage of ₹15,000 to archakas, ₹3,000 as an honorarium to Vedic scholars, and ₹25,000 in assistance to Nayee Brahmins working in temples.
He added that Brahmins and Nayee Brahmins have been included in temple management boards.
The minister said annadanam is being provided for devotees in temples and that 3,700 cows are being maintained in 20 temples across the state.
He said ₹10,000 per month is being given for dhoopa, deepa, and naivedyam in temples in every constituency, which is double the amount given by the previous government.
He also said recruitment notifications have already been issued in the endowments department and the selection process will begin soon.
Industries and commerce minister T.G. Bharath, Panyam MLA Gowru Charitha Reddy, Kodumur MLA Boggula Dastagiri, district collector Dr. A. Siri, and senior endowments officials were present.
