An exclusive aerial survey has revealed 76.74 acres of illegal encroachment inside the protected Mangalam Peta forest lands in the Eastern Ghats, reportedly linked to former Forest Minister and senior leader Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy.

Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan visited the site, assessed the violations, and briefed Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Cabinet Ministers. He immediately ordered a comprehensive investigation into the encroachments.

Pawan Kalyan instructed officials to publish the names of all forest land encroachers on the department website and to disclose the extent of encroachment along with the status of cases against each individual. He emphasized taking strict legal action against anyone involved in forest land grabbing, without exception, and directed a thorough investigation into discrepancies in land records, including inflated Webland entries and false claims of “ancestral land” within protected forest areas. The Deputy CM also called for officials to act based on vigilance reports and guidance from legal experts, and to digitize all land records to prevent manipulation and ensure complete transparency.

The Deputy CM emphasized that forest lands are national assets, and anyone who encroaches, misuses, or violates forest laws will be held accountable, regardless of status. “The government will not tolerate the grab of protected forest areas or wildlife zones,” he said.
