42 Kg Ganja Seized from Palasa Railway Station
According to police, the network comprises suppliers from the Kandhamal district in Odisha who had formed connections with buyers in Bhagalpur and Patna. The accused in this case had at least twice before moved ganja from Odisha to Bihar.
Visakhapatnam: Srikakulam Police apprehended five individuals and seized a total of 42 kg of ganja in two separate incidents at Palasa Railway Station. In both cases, the ganja was sourced from Odisha.
Deputy Superintendent of Police V. Venkata Apparao from Kasibugga Sub-Division said 40 kg of ganja was seized, along with four mobile phones, and four suspects were arrested. The investigation has uncovered a network involving individuals from Bihar and suppliers from Odisha.
Among those arrested are a married couple from Vaishali district in Bihar, along with two associates who worked as cooks in an apartment in Patna. The inquiry revealed that the suspects were promised Rs.5,000 each for their roles in smuggling the contraband.

The suspect, hailing from Kandhamal district in Odisha, had formerly worked in a hotel in Kerala, where he met his accomplice from Thiruvananthapuram. The duo had created a lucrative scheme where Ganja bought for Rs.3,000 per kg in Odisha would be sold for Rs.10,000 per kg in Kerala.
