Skill training camps for youths in Vijayawada: Reports
VIJAYAWADA: Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath alias Chinni on Friday announced that the visionary project of Quantum Valley will change the landscape of the state paving way for a bright future for the youth.
The mega job fair organised by Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) and Kesineni Foundation commenced on Friday at Vijayawada. Over 35 companies participated in the job fair, conducting interviews to offer employment to candidates with qualifications ranging from SSC, Intermediate, ITI, Diploma, any Degree, B.Tech, to PG.
Sivanath highlighted that the state government is set to launch extensive skill training programmes to create job opportunities as well as encourage entrepreneurship within families. He mentioned that these training programmes will include free meals and accommodation. He urged the youth to embrace the government schemes and take substantial steps towards entrepreneurship, emphasising that Vijayawada is synonymous with entrepreneurship and is recognised as a trade city.
The MP inspired individuals to take inspiration to success from humble beginnings, citing examples of members from the legislative assembly, such as Gadde Ramamohan, who started their careers with small jobs for just ₹500, or Dr G. Lakshmisha, who rose from a farming family to become an IAS officer.
Collector Dr G. Lakshmisha stressed that there is no shortage of talent in vibrant Vijayawada. He mentioned that job fairs are also being regularly organised through NTR Vikasa, and unemployed individuals are welcome to register anytime.
MLA Gadde Rammohan Rao revealed that the state government has set a target to create two million jobs in next five years.
The event was inaugurated by MP Sivanath, MLA Gadde Rammohan Rao, NTR district Collector Dr G. Lakshmisha, Principal Dr M. Ramesh, along with local representatives and officials.
PB Siddhartha College Principal Dr M. Ramesh expressed his happiness in hosting the mega job fair in their institution and urged students to acquire both academic and job skills.
The event was attended by Corporator Ch Usharani, district skill development officer S. Srinivasa Rao, DRDA PD A.N.V. Nanchara Rao, district employment officer Ch Madhubhooshan Rao, local representatives, and various officials from different departments.
